Food, food and even more food at Borough Market

Good evening,

Time is going by so incredibly fast! I remember my first post as if it were yesterday, but meanwhile I am approaching the date of leaving the UK… For personal reasons I am not leaving the 7th of April, but the 26th of March which is in less than two weeks.. I am trying to enjoy my time here while I still can! Last week I went with three other lovely au pairs to Spitalfields market (I had already been there before, click here to read my post about it) and after that to Borough Market. Borough Market is one of the oldest and largest food markets in London, and sells practically any food you can imagine. It is quite overpriced, and always loaded with tourists, but despite that I had an absolute blast there. You can taste so much for free, and discover foods you’ve never seen in your life. Being me I took lots of photos again, so have a look for yourself and hopefully get an idea of the atmosphere at Borough Market;

Hmmm I never really drink alcohol (apart from a very occasional G&T) but I find mulled wine very tasty

Lots of cheese at the market, especially Comté, a cheese I was introduced to after coming here. Comté is so delicious, try it if you can!

Borough Market is pretty much completely covered, so if you're looking for something to do on a rainy day (!)

It was quite a rainy day (when is spring ever going to arrive? I’m so fed up with the cold!) but since the whole market is covered we didn’t really mind. If you appreciate good food and like trying out new things or just like markets in general, I definitely recommend you this! It’s near the tube stop London Bridge, central London. I hope you’ve enjoyed my post!

  1. I love this market

  2. Food posts = instant like yeahhhh. Great pis Roos. I had to laugh at the whole “I’m gonna put these sea critters inside this wide-mouthed fishy ’cause it looks so haute couture” idea though, hahaha. So original. Made me think of this particular parasite: http://phenomena.nationalgeographic.com/2013/02/28/tongue-eating-fish-parasites-never-cease-to-amaze/ Sweet dreams!

    1. Hahaha that’s what I thought, oh let’s put some shrimps in in his mouth because that makes it look so delicate and state-of-the-art guys!!!
